WHO WE ARE

Textura Wines is a family project started in 2018 in Dão on the slopes of Serra da Estrela and involving organic viticulture, terroir wine production and wine tourism. After sourcing existing vineyards, in a region of small growers, we have 30 ha of vineyards in 9 different plots in Vila Nova de Tazem and Penalva do Castelo. Our low intervention winemaking, reflects the soil and location of each of our vineyards, leading at wines with character, elegant and distinct. Respect for the place and its biodiversity (soil, flora and fauna, people, and community), the preservation of resources (natural and cultural) and local development are the basis of our fundamental principles.

THE ORIGIN OF OUR WINES

Traditional Dão vineyards with 18 to 50 years old certified as organic viticulture. Present in two sub-regions, Serra da Estrela (Vila Nova de Tazem) and Castendo (Penalva do Castelo), our vineyards have different soils, altitudes, exposures and microclimates. Granite soils predominate at altitudes up to 620 meters.

Our fundamental principles are based on respect for local nature with its biodiversity (soil, flora and fauna, people and community); the preservation of resources (natural and cultural) and regional development.

DISCOVER OUR WINES

All of our wines reflect a blend of traditional Dão grape varieties and a unique expression of different terroirs. A low intervention winemaking, led by the winemaker Luís Seabra, reflects the soil and the place of each of our vineyards and that seeks wines with character, elegant and distinct.

BLENDING NATURE WITH REGIONAL GASTRONOMY

We are located at the limit of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park protected area. Our winery and wine tourism center are at a former industrial facility, a fully renovated century-old textile factory with a charming and comfortable atmosphere. Either at our beautiful terrace or at our cozy interior sheltered by a warm fireplace, we can offer diverse experiences that will show our terroir wines paired with amazing local products like Serra da Estrela DOP cheese.

After an explanatory visit to our winery, guests may experience a few preset tastings at our Wine bar, and also a selection of our wines by the glass. Bottles purchased at Wine Shop can be served, including some older vintages available for a more unique experience.

An attractive restaurant room, and a more peaceful and reserved private room for small events. Upon reservation, we can offer regional meals paired with our wines.

We may organize visits at the vineyards, and also a picnic during summer season.
